The University of Scranton remains in second place in the Landmark Conference Presidents' Trophy standings following the completion of the winter sports season.
Scranton has an 7.66 average at the end of the winter on the strength of a conference title by the women's basketball team. Men's and women's swimming both finished third at the conference championships, giving the Royals three teams with top-four finishes in the conference during the winter season.
The Royals trail only Moravian (8.20). Elizabethtown is third at 7.54, followed by Susquehanna (7.53), Catholic (7.30), Juniata (6.11), Drew (3.90) and Goucher (1.60).
The Presidents' Trophy is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for regular season conference standings as well as results in Landmark postseason competition. The total number of points each institution earns is divided by the number of Landmark sports sponsored to determine the average.
