Men’s basketball (3-0)
The University of Scranton men’s basketball team went on the road and posted a 60-57 victory at Misericordia University on Tuesday, Nov. 20, in Dallas, Pa.
The Royals, who are ranked 18th in the D3hoops.com poll, overcame a 13-point halftime deficit by going on an 18-4 run early in the second half. Sophomore guard Ross Danzig (Clarks Green, Pa./Abington Heights/Blair Academy, N.J.) led the Royals with 24 points in the win. Senior guard Travis Farrell (Middletown, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) added seven points, seven steals and six rebounds.
Scranton returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 27, when they host 10th-ranked Cabrini College in the Long Center at 8 p.m.
Women’s basketball (3-0)
The University of Scranton women’s basketball team posted a 64-59 victory over King’s College in its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the John Long Center.
Senior forward Erin Boggan (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) had a double-double with 18 points and 11 points as the Lady Royals overcame a four-point halftime deficit. Sophomore forward Meredith Mesaris (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) scored a game-high 20 points to go along with six rebounds, and junior guard Alison Sweeney (Wall, N.J./Saint Rose) added 12 points and six rebounds.
Scranton returns to action on Monday, Nov. 26, when it travels to cross-town rival Marywood for a 7 p.m. game.
