Baseball To Host Prospect Showcase At PNC Field On August 22

The University of Scranton baseball team will hold its annual prospect showcase on Friday, Aug. 22, at PNC Field, home of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.

The showcase is open to all high school students entering grades 9 through 12. Players will take part in skill development workouts with members of the Royals' coaching staff during the first portion of the showcase. Players will also be put through workouts by position, as well as batting practice and bullpen sessions, while being evaluated by the coaching staff. Each player will receive an evaluation via e-mail following the showcase.

Registration and check-in will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the showcase beginning at 11 a.m. and wrapping up at approximately 4 p.m. Cost for the showcase is $120. For more information or to register online, click here.
