Freshman lefty Kyle Bravin (Washington Township, N.J./Westwood) of The University of Scranton baseball team had quite a day while making his first career start during the team's spring break trip last week.
Bravin tossed a complete game to lead the Royals to a 10-2 win over Washington College in the opening game of a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 14, in Fort Myers, Fla. As a result of his gem, Bravin has been named the University's Athlete of the Week.
Making his first career start, Bravin allowed just two unearned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven. He didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning and he had four perfect innings where he set the side down in order.
In three appearances so far this season, Bravin is 1-0 with one save and a 0.00 ERA in 14 innings. He has allowed seven hits and five walks while striking out 10.
The Royals will return to action on Saturday, March 25, when they travel to Selinsgrove, Pa. to take on Susquehanna in a Landmark Conference doubleheader at 1 p.m.
