The University of Scranton baseball team's Landmark Conference series against Susquehanna, originally scheduled for this coming weekend, has been moved to May 5-6.
The schedule change was forced by a handful of factors. First, the forecast for the weekend in the Scranton area has high temperatures barely touching 40 both days, and with the Royals' new field at the Kevin P. Quinn, S.J. Athletics Campus in the final stages of completion, finding a playable field would be difficult. Moving the series to Susquehanna was also a big question mark as the Selinsgrove, Pa. area is taking the brunt of the snowstorm currently hitting the Mid-Atlantic.
So, the teams chose to move the series to the open weekend at the end of the season, one week before the Landmark Conference playoffs. The doubleheader on Saturday, May 5, will start at 12:30 p.m., with the single game on Sunday, May 6, starting at noon.
The Royals will now return to action on Tuesday, March 27, when they travel to Allentown, Pa. to take on Muhlenberg at 4 p.m.
