Ross Danzig (Clarks Green, Pa./Abington
Heights/Blair Academy-NJ), a freshman guard on The
University of Scranton men’s basketball team, picked up
another honor for his performance in leading the Royals to a pair
of key road wins this past weekend.
A day after being named the Landmark Conference Player of the
Week, Danzig was named to the Jesuit Honor Roll today.
Joining him on the honor roll were Perris
Blackwell of the University of San Francisco, Nate
Champion of LeMoyne University, Justin
Drummond of Loyola University of Maryland, Corey
Gray of Loyola University of New Orleans, Ray
McCallum of the University of Detroit, Doug
McDermott of Creighton University, and Ronald Roberts of
Saint Joseph’s University.
The Jesuit Player of the Week honor went to Darius
Johnson-Odom of Marquette University.
Danzig opened the period by connecting on 6 of 9 shots from the
field and finished with 16 points, four rebounds, two assists, and
two steals as the Royals defeated Catholic University, 79-62, on
Friday, January 27, at the DuFour Center in Washington, DC.
The following day, Danzig scored 19 points and pulled down 11
rebounds—his second ‘double-double’ of the
season—as Scranton downed Goucher College 58-49, at the
Decker Sports & Recreation Center in Towson, Maryland.
The Royals, now 14-6 overall and 7-2 in the Landmark Conference,
will play their final two games of the regular-season at the Long
Center this weekend, hosting second place Juniata College on
Friday, February 3, at 7:30 p.m. and second place Susquehanna
