DALLAS, Pa.—Freshman Erik Meyer (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) made quite a debut for The University of Scranton men’s golf team Tuesday afternoon against Wilkes University and King’s College at the Huntsville Golf Club.
He shot an even-par 72 to lead the Royals to a pair of victories. Scranton, now 9-1, also received a 75 from sophomore Grant Gulick (Binghamton, NY/Johnson City), a 77 from junior Jamie Bresnahan (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area), an 80 from senior Rob Bresnahan (Hughstown, Pa./Wyoming Seminary), and an 86 from sophomore Andrew Loyack (Greenfield Township, Pa./Scranton Preparatory). The Royals finished with a four-score total of 304, while Wilkes and King’s shot 355 and 357, respectively.
Freshman Anthony Gagliostro (Washington Township, NJ/River Dell Regional) and junior Mark Wallis (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale Area) paced Wilkes with 87s and senior Justin Eimers (Hunlock Creek, Pa./Lake-Lehman) and sophomore Eric Jesikiewicz (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) led King’s with an 83 and an 87, respectively.
Gulick’s 75 was his ninth sub-80 round of the season while Bresnahan’s 77 was his fourth.
The Royals will host King’s and FDU-Florham tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic.
