Royals Tie For 3rd Place In 9-Team Field At Susquehanna Fall Invitational

HUMMELS WHORF, Pa.—Sophomore Grant
Gulick (Binghamton, NY/Johnson City) and junior
Chris Schank (Dunmore, Pa./Scranton
Preparatory) shot rounds of 74 and 75, respectively, to
lead The University of Scranton to a tie for third place in the
nine-team field at the Susquehanna Fall Invitational Saturday
afternoon at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club.
Manhattan College shot a 299 to win the team title. Elmira
College was second with a 307, followed by Scranton and Susquehanna
“B” with 309, Stevens Institute of Technology (311),
McDaniel College (316), Susquehanna “A” (318), York
College and Mt. Aloysius with 322 each, and Keystone College
(341).
Rounding out Scranton’s top four scorers were juniors
Justin Riley (Haymarket,
Va./Battlefield) and Jamie Bresnahan (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area)
with 79 and 81. Sophomore Andrew Loyack (Greenfield Township, Pa./Scranton
Preparatory) also played for Scranton today and shot an
86.
Gulick’s 74 tied his season-low round of 74 against
King’s College on September 12 at the Wyoming Valley Country
Club. Schank’s 75 was his seventh consecutive sub-80
round of the season and the 26th of his career.
Matt Creamer of Manhattan shot an even-par 71 to win the
individual crown.
