SHAVERTOWN, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's golf team shot a season-low 304 to post victories over Wilkes and King's on Thursday afternoon at Huntsville Golf Club.
The Royals knocked off King's, 304-322, and Wilkes, 304-335, to pick up their 12th win of the season. Senior Steven Lambrinakos (Stamford, Conn./Trinity) led the way with a career-low 75 on the 6,680-yard, par-72 layout. He sizzled on the back nine, shooting a 3-under 33 after making the turn in 42.
Scranton (12-4) also received a pair of 76s from sophomores Kyle Hayes (East Norwich, N.Y./Oyster Bay) and Andrew Milisits (Northampton, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic). For Milisits, that was also a career-low round. Freshman Patrick Budicini (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) also shot 77, matching his career low. Sophomore Erik Ridley (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) also shot 88 to round out the team's five scores.
The Royals' total of 304 was three strokes better than their previous season low of 307, which they carded on Tuesday in a 306-307 lost to King's at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
Scranton will be back in action when it places two teams in the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational on Sunday and Monday, April 23 and 24, at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, Pa.
