Faceoff specialist Matt Finor and midfielder Alec Mikrut have been named to the Landmark Conference All-Decade Team for men's lacrosse, a fitting honor for two players who helped build the Royals into a successful program on a yearly basis.
Finor was dominant in the faceoff circle during his career from 2012-15. He played in 66 career games and is second in program history in faceoffs won (680) and third in faceoff percentage (.604). He won an impressive 394 faceoffs over his final two seasons with a win percentage of .657.
Finor also finished his career with 303 ground balls, which ranks second in program history. In his four seasons, the Royals were 36-29 overall and 15-7 in Landmark Conference play. The Royals won the Landmark Conference title in 2011, his freshman season, and qualified for the playoffs in all four of his seasons. Finor was a first-team all-conference selection in 2015 and second-team in both 2013 and 2014.
Mikrut, who played from 2013-16, was one of the team's most prolific scorers in recent years. He finished his career with 76 goals and 35 assists for 111 points, and ranks tied for 11th in career goals, tied for 20th in career assists, and tied for 15th in career points in school history.
In his four seasons, Mikrut helped the Royals go 39-28 overall and 17-7 in Landmark Conference play while qualifying for the playoffs in all four of his seasons. He was named first-team all-conference in 2014 and 2016, and second-team in 2015, and was a four-time Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week for men's lacrosse.
