Stein Named Landmark Conference Athlete Of The Week For Women's Golf

Sophomore Brianna Stein (Ridge, N.J./Basking Ridge) had quite a week for The University of Scranton women's golf team, winning all four of her matches as the team went 3-1 in match play action. As a result, she has been named the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week for women's golf.

Stein helped the Royals open the season with a 4-1 win over Misericordia and a 4-0 win over Wilkes on Monday, Sept. 4, at Wilkes-Barre Golf Club. She earned a 5 & 4 win against Misericordia and rolled to a 9 & 8 victory against Wilkes, both from the no. 2 spot in the lineup.

On Friday, Sept. 8, Stein was victorious twice from the no. 2 spot in the lineup in a 4-0 win over Wilkes and a 3-2 loss to Marywood at Scranton Municipal Golf Course. She played the first six holes in 1-under-par en route to a 9 & 8 win against Wilkes and a 5 & 4 victory against Marywood.

Stein and the women's golf team return to action on Thursday, Sept. 14, when they host Marywood at 1 p.m. at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
