Allen's Eagle Highlights Women's Golf's Third-Place Finish At Landmark Conference Fall Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Senior Katie Allen (New Milford, Conn./Immaculate High School) recorded the first eagle in University of Scranton women's golf history to help the Royals finish third at the Landmark Conference Fall Invitational on Saturday at Susquehanna Valley Country Club.

Allen holed out from the fairway on a par 4 for the historic moment. It was part of a round of 101 by Allen, which helped Scranton finish third in the event. Dickinson and Marywood, which are not Landmark Conference schools, finished first and second with scores of 370 and 388, respectively. Scranton finished at 398, followed by Goucher (400) and Juniata (482).

Sophomore Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) led Scranton with a 95. Senior Julie Cranney (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) shot 100, while junior Maura McDonough (Dunmore, Pa./Holy Cross) had 102 and her twin sister, Maggie McDonough (Dunmore, Pa./Holy Cross), finished with 103.

The women's golf team will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 1, when the Royals take on Misericordia at 1 p.m. at Irem Temple Country Club in Dallas, Pa.
