The University of Scranton women's soccer team never found its stride on Saturday, falling to Western Connecticut State, 3-0, at chilly Fitzpatrick Field.
The Colonials (4-0-0) took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute, then later added second-half goals in the 70th and 87th minutes to remain unbeaten.
Scranton (2-2-0) had a handful of chances to get on the scoreboard, but could not convert. Western Connecticut State held a slim 13-9 edge in shots while the Royals had an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Royals will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 13, when they host crosstown rival Marywood at 7 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field.
