Azzalina PIcks Up Two Weekly Honors

Megan Azzalina (Easton, Pa./Notre
Dame), a freshman on the women’s tennis team, has
been named The University of Scranton Athlete of the Week and the
Landmark Conference Player of the Week for the period ending
Sunday, March 18.
Azzalina won five singles and four doubles matches as the Royals
won four of five matches to improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the
Landmark Conference. She won two matches apiece in
Scranton’s wins over Kutztown, Greenville, and Richard
Stockton during a Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina,
and in a 5-4 win over Goucher College in the Landmark Conference
opener for both teams on Sunday, March 18, in Towson, Maryland.
Azzalina currently leads the Royals with a 5-1 record in singles
and is tied for the team-lead in wins in doubles with four.
Scranton will return to action this Wednesday, March 21, against
Elizabethtown College at the Poly Hi Tennis Courts on campus
beginning at 3:30 p.m.
