Julia Crilly (Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute) has been the heart and soul of The University of Scranton volleyball team over the past four years.

Her efforts, however, didn’t go unnoticed.

Today, she capped off a brilliant career by being named honorable mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).  In the process, she becomes the first player from the volleyball team to earn All-America honors and is the University's 57th overall.

This past season, Crilly, a two-time first-team and four-time All-Landmark Conference selection, led the Royals in kills (435), attack attempts (113), and digs (366).  Her play was instrumental in leading Scranton to a 23-11 record, including a semifinal berth in the Landmark Conference postseason tournament, under second-year head coach Jamie Spangler

She also etched her name in the Royal record book, finishing her career as Scranton’s all-time leader in attack attempts (4647), second in kills (1648), third in digs (1572), and fifth in service aces (195).  She is the only player in the program’s history to record at least 1500 kills and 1500 digs.
