Following a fall sports season that saw the Royals capture two Landmark Conference titles, The University of Scranton is in second place in the Landmark Conference Presidents' Trophy standings.
Scranton has an 8.25 average at the end of the fall on the strength of conference titles by the men's and women's soccer teams. Women's volleyball also qualified for the postseason and men's cross country finished third at the conference championships, giving the Royals' four teams with top-four finishes in the conference.
The Royals trail only Elizabethtown (10.38). Susquehanna is third at 7.22, followed by Juniata (6.58), Moravian (5.83), Catholic (4.97), Drew (3.10) and Goucher (2.83).
The Presidents' Trophy is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for regular season conference standings as well as results in Landmark postseason competition. The total number of points each institution earns is divided by the number of Landmark sports sponsored to determine the average.
