The voting is down to the final three in the running for the Landmark Conference's top winter sports moments, part of the conference's celebration of its 10-year anniversary. The University of Scranton men's basketball and men's swimming & diving teams are both in the running as voting comes down to the wire.
Voting on the three finalists from each sport begins today (Tuesday, Feb. 7) at 11 a.m. and continues until Tuesday, Feb. 14, at midnight. The winning moments will be announced prior to each sport's championship weekend.
The Royals' thrilling comeback in the opening round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament is one of three finalists in men's basketball. In that game, Scranton overcame an 18-point second-half deficit to force overtime and eventually defeat Messiah, 70-67. The win would propel the Royals all the way to the Elite Eight that season.
In men's swimming & diving, the Royals' performance in the 2008 Landmark Conference championships, where Joseph Veselovsky earned co-Swimmer of the Year honors as the Royals finished fourth is one of the sport's three finalists for top moment.
