The Landmark Conference released the following statement on March 18, 2020:
TOWSON, Md. - After thoughtful deliberation, the Landmark Conference, with unanimous support from our eight institutional Presidents, has made the difficult decision to cancel the league's spring sports seasons and respective championship events in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
To all our student-athletes, coaches, institutional staff and fans, please know this decision did not come lightly. The conference had remained hopeful for competition to resume this spring, but due to the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19, we are prioritizing the health and well-being of not only our student-athletes and campus support staff but their respective local communities by encouraging social distancing.
The Landmark will continue to recognize the achievements of our outstanding student-athletes through the remainder of the spring. Please check back weekly to read more about these honorees from all our spring sports.
To all of the support staff, coaches and underclassmen; we are counting the days until we see you again on the playing fields and courts.
To our seniors whose careers ended prematurely, thank you for your commitment, your passion for the sports you love and the everlasting marks you made on not only your program but your institution and the Landmark Conference as a whole.
