The winter chill continues to hang over the Northeast this week, but there will be no shortage of heat in the John Long Center on Wednesday night when The University of Scranton men’s and women’s basketball teams host Landmark Conference semifinals.
The doubleheader will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. when the top-seeded and 14th-ranked Lady Royals (23-2, 15-1 Landmark) host fourth-seeded Susquehanna (17-8, 10-6). At 7:30 p.m., the second-seeded Royals (20-5, 14-2) will host third-seeded Susquehanna (19-6, 12-4) in a men’s semifinal.
Tickets for both games are $5 for adults (ages 18-61) and $3 for students (ages 11-17) and senior citizens (ages 62 and older). All Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff will be admitted free of charge with a school ID, and children ages 10 and younger will be admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
Doors will open for the women’s game at 4:30 p.m.
On the women’s side, the other Landmark Conference semifinal features third-seeded Elizabethtown (18-6, 11-5) traveling to second-seeded Catholic (17-8, 11-5) for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off in Washington, D.C. The other men’s semifinal features fourth-seeded Drew University (12-13, 7-9) at top-seeded Catholic (21-4, 15-1) at 7:30 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
Winners of Wednesday's semifinals will meet in the championship games on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the sites of the highest remaining seeds at times to be determined.
