It’s been quite a fall season for The University of Scranton’s sports teams, and it’s not over yet. All four teams that compete for a postseason bid have earned spots in the Landmark Conference playoffs, which begin on Tuesday.
The men’s and women’s soccer teams, the field hockey team and the women’s volleyball team will all begin their quests for conference championships in earnest this week, beginning with men’s soccer, the no. 2 seed, hosting Susquehanna in a semifinal match on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field.
The second-seeded women’s soccer team will host Elizabethtown in a semifinal on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m., also at Fitzpatrick Field. Field hockey, the no. 4 seed, will visit Elizabethtown for a semifinal that same day, beginning at 2:30 p.m. And the third-seeded women’s volleyball team will also be in action on Wednesday when the Royals visit Susquehanna for a semifinal match at 7 p.m. in Selinsgrove, Pa.
Championship contests in all four sports will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the site of the highest remaining seed at times to be determined.
This marks the first time since 2012 that all four teams have qualified for the Landmark Conference postseason.
