Sophomore outfielder Connor Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) of The University of Scranton baseball team has collected multiple honors since his record-breaking season this past spring.  On Tuesday afternoon, he added yet another postseason accolade, earning D3baseball.com Third Team All-American honors.

Harding is the first player in Scranton history to earn D3baseball.com All-American honors since the site began its All-American award program in 2007.

Harding was previously named to the D3baseball.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team last week after being named the Landmark Conference Player of the Year and earning First Team All-Conference honors for the Royals.  A standout in the classroom as well, he was also selected to the CoSIDA All-District First Team this spring.

Harding was a dominant force at the plate this spring for Scranton, batting .464 with a .517 on-base percentage and a .695 slugging percentage.  He racked up a school record 70 hits on the season including eight doubles, a program-record nine triples, and three home runs.

Harding also scored 46 runs, had 34 RBI, and stole 14 bases while drawing 20 walks while leading the Landmark Conference in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, and triples.

A starter in all 39 games for the Royals this season, Harding had at least one hit in 34 games and enjoyed 22 multi-hit performances.

Harding also played stellar defense as Scranton's centerfield this spring, boasting a .972 fielding percentage with 101 putouts and four assists from the outfield.  His ability to make plays on balls hit to the gaps also helped save numerous extra-base hits and runs for the Royals.

Harding led Scranton to their second straight Landmark Conference playoff appearance in 2019 as the Royals finished the season with a 17-22 overall recording including a 9-9 mark in conference action.
