University of Scranton head baseball coach Mike Bartoletti has announced that seniors Kevin Haag (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining) and Kyle Bravin (Washington Township, N.J./Westwood Regional) and junior Connor Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) have been named team captains for the 2020 season.
Harding was named Landmark Conference Player of the Year last season after hitting .464 with three home runs, 34 RBI, eight doubles, nine triples and 14 stolen bases in 39 games for the Royals. The outfielder also broke the program record for hits in a single season with 70 knocks on the season. Harding earned All-Region and All-American honors as well as CoSIDA Academic All-American recognition.
Haag hit .349 and led the team in both home runs (7) and RBI (41), while also breaking the single-season program record for doubles with 17. The Ossining, N.Y., native played in all 39 games for Scranton and hit two home runs in a game at Moravian on April 18.
Bravin rounds out the trio of team captains for the Royals in 2020. The southpaw made nine appearances (five starts) for Scranton a year ago and went 1-3 with 16 strikeouts in 27.0 innings pitched. Bravin allowed two runs on four hits and fanned five over 7 2/3 IP in a win versus Juniata on March 24.
