Freshman Hunter Ralston (Duryea, Pa./Pittston Area) of The University of Scranton baseball team was named Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week after allowing just an unearned run in a complete game victory against Albright on Saturday.
Ralston is the first Royal to earn Landmark weekly honors this season and the first since senior Kevin Haag (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining/Bridgton Academy (Maine)) was named Player of the Week on May 6, 2019.
Making his first collegiate start, the right-hander allowed just one unearned run on three hits while fanning four in his seven innings of work during the Royals' 2-1 win over Albright. Ralston did not allow a hit through the first 5 1/3 IP of the contest.
The Duryea, Pa., native has yet to allow an earned run in 10 innings pitched this season and has surrendered just three hits.
Scranton closes out a season-opening homestand when they host SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday, March 11. First pitch at Volpe Field is slated for 4 p.m.
