The University of Scranton baseball team garnered the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award for the third straight season as announced by the organization on Wednesday morning.
The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award honors collegiate and high school programs that posted higher than a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2019-20 academic year. Scranton was one of two Landmark Conference programs along with Elizabethtown to receive the honor after the Royals compiled a 3.33 GPA in 2019-20.
This year, the ABCA recognized an all-time high 419 programs across the collegiate and high school levels.

Individually, junior outfielder Connor Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American for the second straight year and holds a 3.97 GPA as a Business Administration major.
On the field, the Royals' 2020 season was cut short after seven games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Scranton registered non-conference victories over Albright and Brockport during the truncated campaign and received key contributions from several different players.
