Mike Guy returned to the Royals coaching staff in the fall of 2015 and works with the team's hitters and catchers, and also serves as the first base coach. He also spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons on Mike Bartoletti's coaching staff.

Guy is a 2007 graduate of Salem Community College with an associate's degree in psychology, and a 2009 graduate of Maryland-Eastern Shore with a bachelor's in secondary English education. He was also a two-year letterman as a catcher for the Hawks. He appeared in 79 games, 60 as a starter, throwing out 26 would-be basestealers while hitting .255 and scoring 21 runs on the offensive side. He was a member of the MEAC All-Academic Team as a senior.

Guy is also the owner of Baseball U PA, a local travel program with teams from the 9 through 17U age groups. The program has helped more than 75 players reach the college level in the past seven years. He also serves as the head coach of the 17U team.

Prior to joining Scranton, he served as an assistant coach at Abington Heights High School. Guy is a 2005 graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School in nearby Hawley, where he is currently employed and is a volunteer coach with the wrestling program. He has also served as an educator at the Pike County Correctional Facility and the Hawley Alternative Center from 2010 to 2014. He resides in Scranton.
