University of Scranton field hockey senior Meredith Campbell (Media, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) earned Honorable Mention honors in the weekly Longstreth/NFHCA Division III awards, which were announced on Wednesday.
Last week, Campbell posted a historic week for the Royals (11-0 on the year) in a pair of victories for Scranton over Wilkes (5-3) on Wednesday and Elizabethtown (1-0) on Saturday. For her efforts, Campbell was named the Landmark Conference's Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second straight week on Monday.
First, on Wednesday against Wilkes, Campbell scored all five goals for the Royals, breaking the program record for most goals in a match. Then on Saturday against E-Town, she scored the eventual game-winner in the first half. For the year, Campbell has scored 18 goals, which is already the fourth highest goal total for a season in program history.
