GILBERT, Ariz. – The University of Scranton field hockey team enjoyed an outstanding season on the field in this past fall, and the Royals excelled in the classroom as well, earning the 2017 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award.
Scranton was one of 130 NCAA Division III programs to collect the award which was presented to squads that posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year.
This is the sixth straight year in which the Royals have earned the NFHCA National Academic Team Award under the leadership of head coach Colleen Moyer.
Scranton finished the 2017 season with a 15-3 (6-1 Landmark) record and reached the Landmark Conference semifinals where they were defeated in overtime by Juniata, 2-1.
