Senior Gracie McClatchy (Havertown, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) scored two goals and added two assists in three games last week to help lead The University of Scranton field hockey team to a perfect 3-0 week. For her efforts, McClatchy has been named Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week.
The Havertown, Pa., native started the week with an assist on the game-winning goal with 1:22 left in a 2-1 victory versus Misericordia on Tuesday. McClatchy added a goal in a 2-0 victory at King's (Pa.) and tallied a goal and an assist in a 4-3 victory versus Arcadia on Saturday. In the win over Arcadia, the senior forward fed a perfect pass to classmate Nicolette Keale (Wall Township, N.J./Wall) who broke a three-all tie with the game-winning goal with 10 seconds remaining. Head coach Colleen Moyer tied the program record for all-time coaching victories (153) in Saturday's win.
McClatchy currently ranks in the top five in the Landmark Conference in goals (3), assists (3) and points (9).
The Royals will look for their fifth straight win as they head across town to battle Marywood tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
