Senior Lauren Earnshaw (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) registered a key defensive save in Saturday's 2-1 win versus Goucher and has been named Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for her efforts as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
The Royals held a 2-0 lead late in the third quarter and Earnsahw kept a shot from Goucher's Ari Hooper out of the net as head coach Colleen Moyer's squad improved to 2-0 in Landmark Conference play. Earnshaw leads the Landmark with six defensive saves on the season.
The Audubon, Pa., native is the third Royals player to win a weekly award this season after sophomore Allie Benadon (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) and senior Gracie McClatchy (Havertown, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) both captured Offensive Athlete of the Week honors.
Earnshaw has helped lead a defensive unit that has allowed just 13 goals in 11 games this season.
