GILBERT, Ariz. – Sophomore Allie Benadon (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) and senior Gracie McClatchy (Havertown, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) of The University of Scranton field hockey team were both named to the 2019 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-South Atlantic Region Second Team as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

This marks the second consecutive All-Region honor for McClatchy, while Benadon nabbed the first All-Region honor of her career. It is also the third consecutive season and fifth time in six years that members of The University of Scranton field hockey have received All-Region accolades.

Benadon started all 21 games for the Royals and tallied seven goals to go along with a team-leading six assists. An All-Landmark Conference First Team selection this fall, Benadon scored a pair of goals including the overtime game-winner in a 2-1 win at Catholic on Sept. 28 and registered a goal and two assists in the Landmark Conference Championship game victory over Susquehanna.

McClatchy led the team in goals (13) and points (31), while also adding five assists on the season. The Havertown, Pa., native was an All-Landmark Conference First Team selection and earned Tournament MVP honors as she scored three goals in two postseason games to lead the Royals to the first Landmark Conference title in program history. McClatchy recorded three multi-goal games on the season and tallied five game-winning goals. The senior forward recently participated in the NFHCA Division III Senior All-Star game.

Scranton went 13-8 (6-1 Landmark) this season and captured the first conference title in program history with a 4-1 win over Susquehanna in the title game. The Royals claimed the second NCAA Tournament berth in program history and hosted MIT in the opening round.
