Danzig, a two-time team captain, will long be remembered by Royal fans as one of the most talented all-around players in the program’s storied history. He enters tomorrow’s game 11th in scoring (1636 points), 19th in rebounding (663), 13th in assists (330), and 16th in steals (116) in Scranton history. He has won every major award from the Landmark Conference, having been selected the rookie of the year in 2012 and player of the year last season, along with earning first-team honors in each of the past two years. In addition, he has garnered all-regional awards from D3hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Fee will be appearing the 41st game of his career and will be making his first start. A four-year letterman and team captain this season, he scored a career-high 11 points in the Royals’ 81-69 victory over Baruch College in the championship game of the Radisson Invitational on November 17, 2013, at the Long Center.
Klingman is a two-year starter, four-year letterman and team captain this year who has already etched his name in the Royal record book as one of the finest perimeter shooters in school history. He is Scranton’s all-time leader in 3-point field goal accuracy (.538) and is currently the NCAA career leader for active players in that same category.
Earlier this season, he was named the most valuable player (MVP) of the Radisson/PNC Bank Invitational after leading the Royals to wins over Centenary and Alvernia at the Long Center in November. On January 2, Klingman scored 12 points in an 86-83 win in overtime against King’s and 15 more the following day in a 75-73 victory over Wilkes University to help Scranton win its fourth straight Cross County Challenge, a performance that earned him a spot on the all-tournament team.
After Saturday’s game, the Royals will play four of their final six regular-season games on the road, beginning Wednesday, February 4, against the Greyhounds of Moravian College at Johnston Hall in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
