Ranck's Sharp Shooting Leads Young Guys To Alumni Game Win

Kyle Ranck
got hot at the right time to lead the Young Guys to an 80-73 win over the Old Guys in the men's basketball alumni game in the Long Center this past Saturday morning.

The ageless Randy Arnold got the Old Guys out to an early lead with his patented mid-range game. But Ranck led the way with 16 points for the Young Guys. "The Rifleman," as he is known in small circles, drilled four 3-pointers to spark a second half charge for the victors.

If it wasn't for a lane violation in the final 50 seconds, the outcome could have been different. Matt Swaback was heard saying that conditioning played a big factor in the loss.

The Young Guys roster consisted of Mike Fee, Ross Danzig, Brendan Boken, Brian Farrell, Marcus Thomas, Patrick Calvey, Tommy Morgan and Ranck. The Old Guys included Mike Barr, Bill Burke, Arnold, Kevin Walsh, Swaback, Ryan FitzPatrick, Joe Alferi and Brendan Fuller.
