Senior guard Ethan Danzig (Clarks Green, Pa./Abington Heights) of The University of Scranton men's basketball seemingly could not miss last week, averaging 24.5 points per game while leading the Royals to a pair of victories. As a result, he has been named the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week.

Danzig hit 10 3-pointers last week, including seven in a 30-point effort in the Royals' 84-73 win over Drew on Wednesday night in the Long Center. His 30 points were one shy of his career high and helped Scranton hand the Rangers their first conference loss. Danzig also had six rebounds, two blocks and a steal in the win.

On Saturday, Danzig led Scranton with 19 points in a 73-64 win at Elizabethtown that moved the Royals (10-9, 6-2 Landmark) into second place alone with six games remaining in the conference race. He hit 3 of 5 from beyond the arc and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line while adding five rebounds, a block and an assist.

For the season, Danzig leads the Royals with 15.8 points per game while shooting 40.3 percent (60-for-149) from 3-point range. He has 11 games with at least three made 3-pointers, including nine of the past 12 games.

Danzig and the Royals return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 31, when they host Moravian at 7 p.m. in the Long Center.
