Danzig, Schankweiler Honored With Dickman Award

Seniors Ethan Danzig (Clarks Green, Pa./Abington Heights) and Drew Schankweiler (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) were honored as co-recepients of the John "Les" Dickman Award prior to The University of Scranton men's basketball team's game against Moravian on Wednesday evening.

The Dickman Award is presented annually to the team's most valuable player.

Danzig is the team's leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points per game while shooting 39.9 percent from 3-point range. Earlier this season, he became the program's all-time leader in 3-pointers made and currently has 260 career 3-pointers. He was also named National Jesuit Player of the Week on Jan. 17.

Schankweiler is third on the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 9.7 per game. He has eight double-doubles on the season and is shooting 68.5 percent from the floor, which leads the Landmark Conference and is ranked in the top 10 nationally.
