Old Alums Edge Young Alums in Men’s Basketball Alumni Game

Scranton welcomed back 17 former players for Saturday's alumni game which was won by the Old Alums, 88-84.

The University of Scranton men's basketball team held its alumni game on Saturday prior to the Royals' Landmark Conference doubleheader against Catholic in the John Long Center. 

17 former Scranton players returned the hardwood in the Long Center on Saturday for a tightly-contested matchup between Old Alums and Young Alums.

The Old Alums prevailed, 88-84, led by Matt Swaback '12, whose outside shooting led the squad to the victory and earned him team MVP honors.

Marcus Thomas '16 was chosen as the Young Alums' MVP.

The Old Alums squad featured Swaback, Ethan Danzig, Timmy Lavelle, Tommy Morgan, Chris McCullough, Ross Danzig, Travis Farrell, Michael Barr, and Mike Fee.

The Young Alums team included Thomas, Mitch Cross, Drew Schankweiler, Kevin Doolan, John Vitkus, Brian Farrell, Brendan Boken, and PJ Kelly.
