BALTIMORE, Md. – Sophomore Nolan Genasevich (Sugarloaf, Pa./Home School) recorded career-highs of 16 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday to lead The University of Scranton to a 59-45 victory over host Goucher in a Landmark Conference men's basketball game on Saturday.

Sophomore Logan Bailey (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds and freshman Jack Brockett (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) added 11 points for the Royals (20-5, 9-5 Landmark), who reached the 20-win mark for the 25th time in program history including 10 times under head coach Carl Danzig.

Scranton, the #4 seed in the Landmark Conference playoffs, will head to top-seeded Drew on Wednesday evening for a semifinal matchup starting at 7 p.m. in Madison, N.J. 

The first 10 minutes of Saturday's regular season finale were evenly played and the score was knotted at 16-16 at the midway point of the first half.  The Royals closed the half with a 16-4 run, holding Goucher (4-21, 1-13 Landmark) without a field goal over the final 11:53 of the period, to take a 32-20 lead into halftime.

Scranton went 54.2 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes of play while limiting the Gophers to just five first half field goals with a 19.2 percent showing from the floor.

Goucher was able to cut its deficit to seven points, 42-35, with just over 11 minutes remaining in regulation, but were unable to pull any closer as the Royals pulled away for the 14 points victory.

Genasevich's career-game came on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor and he also added two assists and a steal to his double-double while Bailey added a game-high five assists, two blocks, and two steals with his double-double. 

Junior Kyle DeVerna (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) added eight points for the Royals while freshman Jackson Danzig (Clarks Green, Pa./Abington Heights) chipped in with six points, three assists, and two steals.

For the game, Scranton shot 44.0 percent from the field while holding Goucher to just 27.3 percent shooting for the game.  The Royals also held a 42-32 advantage on the glass in the win.

Scranton and Drew split the regular season series with the home team winning both times as the Royals won 79-71 on January 23 in the Long Center before the Rangers returned the favor in Madison, N.J. this past Wednesday, 64-52.
