WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's golf team found itself facing a hot King's squad on Wednesday and paid the price in a 295-324 loss to the Monarchs at Wyoming Valley Country Club.
A day after defeating Wilkes and Marywood in the team's season-opening event, the Royals (2-1) couldn't overcome four scores of 75 or lower by the Monarchs (1-0).
Scranton was led by sophomore Kyle Hayes (East Norwich, N.Y./Oyster Bay), who shot a 7-over-par 77. Senior Steven Lambrinakos (Stamford, Conn./Trinity) was the only other Royal to break 80, finishing with 79.
The Royals will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 13, when they host King's and Keystone at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
