SHAVERTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore Kyle Hayes (East Norwich, N.Y./Oyster Bay) shot a season-low 76 to lead The University of Scranton men's golf team past King's and Wilkes in a tri-match at Huntsville Golf Club in the team's final event of the fall season on Thursday.

Hayes shot 4-over-par on a beautiful fall afternoon to help the Royals knock off King's, 320-351, and Wilkes, 320-369, on the par-72 6,680-yard layout. His 76 was one shot more than his career-best 75, which he shot in his first collegiate match on Sept. 8, 2015, at Glenmaura National Golf Club.

Freshman Patrick Budicini (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) added a 79 for the Royals (7-2). Junior David Harris (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) shot 82 and fellow junior Michael Boland (Dallas, Pa./Holy Redeemer), competing near his hometown, added an 83 to round out Scranton's top four scores.

Scranton will continue its season during the spring semester.
