Men’s Golf Remains Perfect With Wins Over King’s, Keystone

Results vs. King's | Results vs. Keystone

The University of Scranton men's golf team split up for a pair of dual matches on Monday and won both to remain unbeaten on for the 2018-19 season.  The Royals topped King's 302-331 at the Glenmaura National Golf Club while also posting a 320-389 victory over Keystone at the Stonehedge Golf Course to improve to 16-0 on the season.

In Monday's match against King's (5-6), Scranton posted the top four individual scores to pick up the win over the Monarchs on the par 71, 6,308-yard course at Glenmaura.    

The Royals had three players tie for the top score in the match with senior Andrew Milisits (Northampton, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), junior Calvin Ralph (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley), and sophomore Thomas McAuliffe (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) all carding 75's in the round.

Senior Erik Ridley (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) finished two strokes behind the leads as his 77 was good for fourth place in the 12-golfer field while junior Danny Kopp (Tinton Falls, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) finished sixth with an 82 on the day.

Match vs. Keystone

At Stonehedge, Scranton had the top five individual scores while also tying for the sixth best round to defeat Keystone (1-4).

Senior Travis Lubba (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock Township) led all players in in the 11-golfer match with a five-over 76 on the par 71, 6,644 yard layout. 

Junior Patrick Budicini (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and freshman Nicholas Campanelli (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) tied for second place with identical rounds of 81.

On stroke behind that duo were senior Brett Lubba (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock Township) and senior Griffin Lubba (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock Township), who both checked in with 82's to tie for fourth place in the match.

Scranton will next compete at the Landmark Conference Championships to be held Saturday-Sunday, May 4-5, at the Dauphin Highlands Golf Course in Hershey.
