MOOSIC - Sophomore Nicholas Campanelli (Manahawkin, N.J./ Southern Regional) posted the lowest score of his career on Tuesday at Glenmaura National Golf Club, carding a 74 (+3) to lead the Royals past both King's in Misericordia in a tri-match that served as the Royals' 2019-20 season opener.

On the day, the Royals posted a team score of 315 to best King's (335) and Misericordia (414) by wide margins in the tri-match, as Scranton golfers posted three of the top four lowest scores on the day, paced by Campanell's career-best effort.

Elsewhere, senior Calvin Ralph (Hillsdale, N.J.Pascack Valley) posted a 77 (+6), while fellow senior Ian Connell (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) carded an 81 (+10).

Rounding out the top scores on the day for the Royals was junior Thomas McAuliffe (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola-Blakefield), who shot an 83 (+12) and senior Tucker DiPiazza (Birdsboro, Pa./Berks Catholic), who finished with an 85 (+14)

The University of Scranton men's golf team returns to Glenmaura on Thursday, as they take on Marywood in another dual match. Tee-off is set for 1 p.m.
