MOOSIC - Junior Colin Sommers (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) fired the low round of the day at Glenmaura National Golf Club on Thursday with a 75 (+4), leading The University of Scranton men's golf team to a thrilling dual match win over Marywood, as the Royals (314) edged the Pacers (315) by one stroke.

In his career-low round, Sommers had four birdies on a wet day at Glenmaura, as he edged Marywood's James Tressler by one shot to earn medalist honors for the afternoon.

Elsewhere, two Scranton players finished the day with a pair of 79's (+8) in junior Thomas McAuliffe (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) and freshman Matthew Fleming (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South). It was an impressive round for Fleming, as he made his collegiate debut in the event.

Rounding out the top scores for Scranton was senior Calvin Ralph (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley), who carded an 81 (+10), and fellow senior Danny Kopp (Tinton Falls, N.J./Red Bank Catholic), who finished with an 82 to match a career-low.

The University of Scranton men's golf team returns to action on Saturday, as they travel to Wilkes for another dual match, which will be played at Huntsville Golf Club. Tee-off is set for 1 p.m.
