MOOSIC - Senior Calvin Ralph (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley) matched a season-low with a 72, as The University of Scranton men's golf team posted a team score of 306 on the first day of the Biondi Memorial Invitational on Saturday at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
Leading the tournament heading into Sunday's final round is Franklin & Marshall with a total score of 296, followed by the Royals with a 306 and host Marywood in third with a 308. Scranton also ended the day strong, as three of the five players in their line-up birded the 18th hole at Glenmaura.
On the day, Ralph put together a one-over 72, matching the same score he posted on Sept. 26 vs. King's/Wilkes. Entering Sunday's final round, Ralph trails just Trey Kelleher of Franklin & Marshall on the individual leaderboard by just one shot.
Elsewhere, junior Thomas McAuliffe (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) carded a 77 on the afternoon, while freshman Matthew Fleming (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) had a 78. Rounding out the line-up for Scranton was sophomore Nicholas Campanelli (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional), who had a 79, and junior Colin Sommers (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius), who carded an 88.
Play at the 2019 Biondi Memorial Invitational will conclude on Sunday at Glenmaura.
