Junior midfielder Adam Maiale (Blue Bell, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) of The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team continues to collect awards after his big game in a win over King's last week.
The most recent honor to come Maiale's way is a spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week, which honors the top performances by position across all three divisions of the NCAA each week.
Maiale was honored after he led the Royals to a 14-7 victory at King's on Tuesday, March 6. He finished the game with nine caused turnovers and seven ground balls, both career highs, as he helped the Royals snap a two-game losing streak. He had six caused turnovers in the first half as Scranton built a 6-3 lead. And he had three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the third period, when the Royals outscored the Monarchs, 6-1, to put the game away.
For the season, Maiale leads the team with 18 caused turnovers and is second with 26 ground balls. He also has one goal.
The Royals are back in action this afternoon when they host Morrisville State at 4 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field.
