Junior midfielder Michael Elefonte (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) of The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team enjoyed a pair of big games to propel the Royals to two comeback victories. For his efforts, he has been honored as the Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week.

Elefonte totaled 11 points in Scranton's two wins, scoring eight goals and assisting on three others as the Royals won at Misericordia on Wednesday, 15-12, before topping Susquehanna on the road in Saturday's Landmark Conference opener, 15-7.

On Wednesday at Misericordia, Elefonte matched a career-high by scoring five goals as Scranton outscored the Cougars 7-2 in the second half to post the three-goal victory.  He netted three markers in the third quarter as the Royals overcame an 11-8 deficit while also contributing five groundballs and one caused turnover in the win.

On Saturday at Susquehanna, Elefonte recorded a new career-high with a six-point effort as Scranton again used a big second half to win its conference opener.  He netted three goals and assisted on three others while adding four groundballs and a caused turnover against the River Hawks.

A starter in all in games this spring, Elefonte currently tops Scranton's scoring chart with 35 points on 24 goals and 11 assists.  He has also scooped up 29 groundballs while contributing six caused turnovers.

Elefonte and the Royals (5-4, 1-0 Landmark) will put a three-game win streak on the line Wednesday evening when they visit Cortland for a non-conference contest starting at 6:30 p.m.
