Senior Tim Dolan (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) recorded the 100th point of his collegiate career as The University of Scranton defeated Drew 14-5 in Landmark Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday night at Weiss Field.
The Royals, now winners in three straight games, improve to 8-6 on the season and remain perfect in conference play at 3-0. The Rangers fell to 1-12 (0-3 Landmark) with the loss.
Dolan became the 24th player in Scranton history to reach the 100-point milestone by assisting on the Royals' fourth goal of the evening, which came just six seconds before the end of the opening quarter.
Scranton dominated the first, scoring four goals in the first two quarters apiece to hold an 8-0 lead at halftime.
Drew pushed back by netting the only three goals of the third stanza to cut the host's lead to 8-3 heading into the fourth period. The Royals dashed any hopes of a comeback by the Rangers by scoring the first five goals in the final period and went on to outscore the Rangers 6-2 in the frame.
Junior Quinn Killeen (Berkeley Heights, N.J./New Providence) led all players with give points on four goals and one assist while also tying for a game-high with five groundballs.
Junior Michael Elefonte (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) record a hat trick, freshman Cole Lukasiewicz (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) scored twice, while Dolan and junior Connor Kirkwood (Millburn, N.J./St Peter's Prep) added a goal and an assist apiece.
Junior Joe Hill (South Hempstead, N.Y./South Side), along with sophomores Jalen Holmes (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) and Shayne Fallon (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) also found the back of the net for Scranton while freshman Mike Bouhall (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) dished out a game-high three assists and sophomore Daniel Mallay (South Hempstead, N.Y./South Side) adding a pair of helpers.
Sophomore Shayne Fallon (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) went the distance in the Royals' cage, making 11 saves to post his sixth victory of the season.
Sophomore Collin Purdy (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) won a game-high 12 face-offs while junior Gordon Paul (Ocean, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) tied with Killeen for the game-high in groundballs with five.
Junior Brendan McGinn (West Chester, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) collected a pair of caused turnovers for the Royals, who held a 43-28 advantage in shots and a 35-19 lead in groundballs for the game.
Scranton welcomes Drew to Weiss Field on Wednesday night for a Landmark Conference matchup starting at 7 p.m.
