Senior Michael Donnelly (Mahopac, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) of The University of Scranton men's soccer team has been named to the 2019 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced on Thursday afternoon.

This marks the first career Academic All-District selection for Donnelly.

Donnelly was named a First Team selection in District 4, which includes Division III programs throughout Pennsylvania. The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes who must be a starter or key reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.

The Mahopac, N.Y., native started all 18 games for the Royals this season and tallied four goals to go along with one assist. He scored a pair of goals in a 4-0 win over Marywood on Sept. 4.

Donnelly boasts an impressive 3.51 cumulative grade point average as a biology major. He was also a Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll selection in 2017.
