Timothy Quigley of Men's Swimming & Diving Named Scranton Athlete of the Week

For the second time in his career, junior Timothy Quigley (Hatboro, Pa./Archbishop Wood) of the men's swimming & diving team was named The University of Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Jan. 20, 2019 on Tuesday.

Quigley previously earned the honor on Feb. 19, 2018.

This past week, Quigley led the men's team to a pair of victories at a tri-dual meet held at Misericordia on Friday evening. On the night, Scranton defeated the host Cougars by a score of 180-68 and Marywood by a tally of 193-60.

On the night, Quigley was the lone Scranton men's swimmer to take two indvidual events, winning the 100-breaststroke (1:01.28) and the 100-butterfly (58.29). He also helped two Royals relay teams take victories on the evening, as he swam the third leg on the 400-medley relay squad (3:38.24) and anchor on a victorious 200-freestyle relay squad (1:30.71).

Quigley and the rest of The University of Scranton men's swimming & diving team is currently scheduled to return to action on Saturday, as they travel to Susquehanna for their final dual meet of the regular season beginning at 1 p.m.
