MADISON, N.J.- It was a busy opening day for The University of Scranton men's swimming & diving team on Friday at the 2019 Ranger Invitational at Drew, as the Royals sit in second place overall.
Here are some highlights from Friday's action.
In the evening session, the Royals' 400-medley relay team broke the meet record in the event, winning in a time of 3:32.90. On the team for Scranton was senior Timothy Quigley (Hatboro, Pa./Archbishop Wood), junior's Matt Mills (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) and Jack Donnelly (Washington Crossing, Pa./Council Rock North), and freshman Michael Krumenacker (Ambler, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep ).
Elsewhere in the evening session, Mills was second in the 400-IM with a time of 4:20.80 and Donnelly was third in the 100-butterfly in 52.66. The Royals' 200-freestyle relay team was also second on the night with a time of 1:26.41.
In the morning session, Mills was second in the 200-IM (1:57.27) and Donnelly was fourth in the 50-freestyle (22.05). Scranton's 200-medley relay team also placed second with a time of 1:36.26.
