Men’s Swimming & Diving in Second After Opening Day of Ranger Invitational

MADISON, N.J.- It was a busy opening day for The University of Scranton men's swimming & diving team on Friday at the 2019 Ranger Invitational at Drew, as the Royals sit in second place overall.

Here are some highlights from Friday's action.

  • In the evening session, the Royals' 400-medley relay team broke the meet record in the event, winning in a time of 3:32.90. On the team for Scranton was senior Timothy Quigley (Hatboro, Pa./Archbishop Wood), junior's Matt Mills (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) and Jack Donnelly (Washington Crossing, Pa./Council Rock North), and freshman Michael Krumenacker (Ambler, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep ).

  • Elsewhere in the evening session, Mills was second in the 400-IM with a time of 4:20.80 and Donnelly was third in the 100-butterfly in 52.66. The Royals' 200-freestyle relay team was also second on the night with a time of 1:26.41.

  • In the morning session, Mills was second in the 200-IM (1:57.27) and Donnelly was fourth in the 50-freestyle (22.05). Scranton's 200-medley relay team also placed second with a time of 1:36.26.
