GERMANTOWN, Md. – Junior John Fimmano (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) notched a pair of third place finishes on the final day of the 2020 Landmark Conference Championships on Sunday as The University of Scranton men's swimming and diving team finished fourth at the championship meet.
The Royals accumulated 535 points on the weekend, just six shy of third place Drew who had 541. Catholic won the team title for the fourth straight year with 939 points and Susquehanna finished second with 637 points.
Here are some of the highlights from Sunday's action:
- Fimmano broke his own program record and finished third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 46.90, while also taking third in the 200 fly as he touched the wall in a time of 1:58.12.
- Junior Jack Donnelly (Washington Crossing, Pa./Council Rock North) and freshman Kyle Kovalenko (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) finished second and third in the 200 breaststroke with times of 2:04.12 and 2:09.03. Donnelly's time marked a new program record, surpassing the previous time of 2:06.91 that had been set by Jack Hughes in 2014.
- Freshman Michael Krumenacker (Ambler, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) finished fifth in the 100 free with a time of 47.15.
- The 400 free relay team of Krumenacker, Donnelly, sophomore Evan Morgan (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) and junior John Cannilla (Florham Park, N.J./Oratory Prep) finished fourth in the event with a time of 3:14.97.
