The University of Scranton men's and women's track & field teams are set to compete in the Landmark Conference Indoor Championships this coming Saturday, February 23, at Susquehanna's Garrett Center Field House. The action is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. in Selinsgrove, Pa.

Led by second-year head coach Ozzie Brown, Scranton is looking to continue to make strides in the second indoor conference championships for the two squads who both saw several outstanding results at last winter's championship meet.

Sophomore Matt Kinback (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail), who won a silver medal in the 800 meter run at last year's indoor championships, enters this weekend's competition ranked sixth in the event with a season-best mark 2:01.38 while senior Andrew Charway (Irvington, N.J./Christ the King Prep) ranks fifth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.36 seconds.

On the women's side, junior Caroline Banas (Dallas, Pa./Holy Redeemer) is looking to defend her title in the high jump after setting a Landmark Conference championship meet record with a mark of 1.67 meters to win the gold medal last season.

Banas leads a trio of Royals ranked in the top-five of the high jump this season as her season-best mark of 1.63 meters is second-best in the conference.  Freshman Meghan McGonigle (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) is currently third in the event at 1.53 meters while freshman Theresa Scarola ranks fifth at 1.43 meters.

Freshman AnnMarie Onwuka (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) enters this weekend's competition ranked second in the Landmark Conference in the 400 meter dash with a season-best time of 1:03.24.
